Welcome to Day 2 of the Greenstyle Fall Leggings Sew Along. I am excited you are here!

Yesterday, we covered picking your pattern and I had some resources to help you narrow it down. If you missed it, check out that post here. Yesterday’s post also has the basics for getting started sewing leggings.

Now, let’s get started on today. Today we will start sewing! This post has a section for each Greenstyle leggings pattern with links to videos and resources to show you each step of the way. This post will be your guide for the rest of the sew along.

(1) Tempo Tights

I am sewing the Tempo Tights this week. You can find the full video tutorial sew along for them HERE.

In the Tempo Tights Sew Along video I will cover the pattern pieces, grading, how to sew a stretchy and secure seam, and each step of sewing the pattern!

I did this video sew along a little different than I have done in the past. Rather than breaking the steps of the pattern up into multiple videos for each day, I combined them all into one video! This means the video is a little over an hour. I have a detailed video guide in the video description that lets you skip around if you only want to watch one specific part. I would love to hear your feedback about this format and how it works for you.

For those sewing Tempos this week with me, I can’t wait to see them and to be inspired by what ya’ll make!

(2) The Super G Tights

If you are sewing the Super Gs this week, Sarah Connell from Sewing with Sarah has a full sew along for them. Check out her videos HERE.

I also did a fun hack on the Super Gs where I ruched the side panel. You can see how to do that HERE.

The Super Gs do not have a shorts cut line in the pattern so I have a video showing you how to cut the pattern pieces so you can have shorties HERE.

(3) The Stride Tights

The Stride Tights have a sew along as well, but all the videos are not on YouTube. If you join the So Sew English Sew Alongs group on Facebook and search for the Stride Tights, you will find all the videos for this pattern.

Don’t forget that the Strides also comes in Kids Sizes!

(4) The Cavallo Leggings

The Cavallo Leggings are a new favorite for me. So, I hope to see some inspiration from ya’ll from these this week! Sarah Connell has all the videos to show you each step of sewing the Cavallos HERE. She also has some great videos to help with coverstitching! Her sew along this past summer was very helpful!

(5) The Inspire Tights

Last, but not least, the Inspire Tights have a full sew along on Sarah’s channel HERE.

The Inspire Tights have a free Moto Add On! Sarah Connell has a video here showing how to do the moto patches with a coverstitch.

The Inspire tights do not come with a pocket, but I have added one and talk about it in this post.

Grab your patterns while they are on sale! All Greenstyle leggings patterns are 25% off through October 10th. No code needed.

Wondering what happened to the rest of the sew along?

    Sharon Aguilar · October 12, 2020 at 8:38 pm

This post in the sew along includes all the links for the video resources for the leggings sew along. The post the day before this one had resources for helping to get started sewing like picking the pattern, sizing, and printing. I had Facebook posts on the 5th-10th in Greenstyle’s Facebook group where people could post progress of their leggings and ask questions.

      Thanks!

What kind of thread to you use for your cover stitch on your tempo leggings?
And is there an easy way to tell the right side from the wrong side on some of the athletic fabric? Some of it is hard to tell. Thank you! You do such a great job with your instructions. It is very appreciated!

Hi Anne! I use Maxilock thread in my coverstitch. I usually buy it from Wawak – https://www.wawak.com/Thread/Thread-By-Brand/Maxi-Lock/maxi-lock-serger-thread-tex-27/?recId=900044628951&sku=SPT444835.

You are right – some athletic fabric is really hard to tell which side is the right side. Usually, when you pull the fabric apart, you can see the grainline is more raised on the right side. You will see the ridges are more prominent. Also, if you stretch the fabric at the cut edge, it will usually roll towards the right side of the fabric.

Thank you so much for all your help. You do such beautiful work and you explain everything so wonderfully! 💕
