Two days before leaving for summer vacation, I started packing for 6 of the 7 people in my house (thankfully my husband packs for himself!). I noticed my middle child only had a few pairs of boxer briefs for the trip. I told him we needed to head to the store ASAP to buy some more.
He sweetly told me that he loves the underwear I make him the most. That just melted my heart. Doesn’t it feel so good to be appreciated?!? So, despite the millions of things I had planned on doing before we left, I cleared my schedule (kind of) and made him 3 pairs of underwear that night.
He tackled me with excitement when I showed them to him the next morning, and I couldn’t be happier with his response.
When I asked him which boxers was his favorite so that I could pick the pattern to make him again, he showed me the boxers I had made him from the Walbrook boxer brief pattern from Greenstyle. I blogged about the pairs I made him last year HERE. I remeasured him, and he was definitely up an entire size!
I was able to get photos of 2 of the 3 pairs I made him, but I had a hard time getting photos of just him. His baby sister kept running up and tackling him and then posing for the camera. She is almost 18 months and already seems to enjoy getting her photo taken.
Pattern Options
The Walbrook Boxer Brief has two rises. I made him the lower rise option on both briefs, but the one with exposed elastic sits higher on him since I am not turning the elastic under when I top stitch my elastic.
The pattern also has the option of two different lengths. I made him the longer length on all of his briefs this time.
The pattern also includes a gusset and the fly part of the brief can have a non functioning or functioning fly. I used the nonfunctioning fly option in the pattern because I love that it can easily be made with enclosed seams so that it is nice and comfortable against him.
