• Day 3 – Sewing the Side Seams and Shoulder Seams

• Day 6 – Finish and Show Me What You Have Made!

You can also watch the playlist for the entire sew along HERE. I thought it would be nice to have all the videos uploaded already for the week. This will help if you have extra time to sew one day more than on others.

Pattern Options

The Embrace Sports Bra is my go to sports bra when I want a flat front bra that does not have princess seams showing through when I wear a fitted tank or tee.

In addition to the flat front option, the pattern has the option for a color blocked front that has a seam line running over your bust.

For the back, you can choose from a racerback,

a U back, which is so nice if a racerback style hurts your neck,

or a layered back version which combines the two. Also, any back option can have a keyhole for extra airflow.

You also can add a bra clasp if you do the keyhole option. This makes getting your bra on and off easier.

Make sure that you print the pattern pieces that go with the option you have decided upon. Note that the racerback has a different pattern piece based on whether you are doing the racerback by itself or layered with the U-back.

Resources and Supplies

• Athletic Fabric – my favorites are athletic brushed poly, supplex, yoga knits, etc. In this post, I used Dharma from the Fabric Fairy (in hummus), Olympus  (in deep pomegranate), and swim fabric. I also really love the Zen fabric from The Fabric Fairy. It feels like a nice supplex. From Greenstyle, I like their Align, Arete, Brushed Athletic (the 265, not the lighter weight one – this is one of my fave to use as lining because it is really soft against the skin), and Supplex. I also use athletic fabric for the lining of the bra. You also see photos in this post of bras I used with athletic brushed poly from The Styled Magnolia.
• Clear elastic (I use 1/4 inch but 3/8 also works). I got mine here.
• Waistband elastic for your underbust band. Either 1.5 inch or 2 inch. I have used this one and this one. I also will show you how to use soft waist band elastic.
• Coordinating thread and a stretch or ballpoint needle.
• Optional – Bra Cups. I got mine here. If you want to use bra foam, see this post.
• Optional – Bra Hook and Eye Closure. I got mine at Tailor Made. You need a 1.5 inch tall one if you are using 1.5 inch elastic in your waistband and a 2 inch tall hook and eye if you are using 2 inch elastic in your waistband. They are also sold at Bra and Corset Supplies and Sew Sassy. 
• Optional – If you want an added layer of support inside your bra, techsheen has the firmest hold, next is power net, and last in firmness is power mesh. You would baste this to your lining and treat your lining and this fabric as one. It may not be soft enough to use by itself as your lining.
