My two sons are quickly approaching 5 and 7. They are also inseparable. I can’t get over their relationship and feel like I am the most blessed mother in the world to have them both and to get to watch them grow up together.

They both are still really excited when I sew for them. I am not sure whether they will always feel that way, but for now, I am eating it up and am so excited when they tell me they like a fabric that I show them. 

I recently got this alligator fabric in the mail from Made Whimsy, and both boys requested tank tops. I think a simple tank is one of the most worn items I have made my sons, and I am so glad they are so easy to please! 

The tank top pattern that I used is the FREE Greenstyle Creations Slope Tank pattern. This is a unisex pattern for ages 3-14 that works great and is quick to sew. For my oldest son’s tank, I added a little color blocking at the top to incorporate some of the little gators that are on my younger son’s tank. 

For the binding on both of their tanks, I used the gator skin print and love how it pops!

I love how fun the panel is on my oldest son’s tank. It is printed to wrap around the body!

When I finished their shirts, they begged me to take photos of them. It is hard to stay out of the mud and stay clean so they know that I have to make sure I have photographed their shirts before they can have them. 

Sizing. I made my youngest son a size 5/6 and added 1.5 inches in length to his tank because he seems to only grow upwards. I made my oldest son a straight size 7/8 without adding length. My oldest son seems to grow more proportionately on growth charts so I usually never lengthen tops for him. 

I love how happy they are together! They play baseball, wrestle, and do all the boy things!
