Love your makes! I came to your blog to read about those shorts! I am finishing up my TSM pre-order and this post is so inspiring. I have the opposite problem - tall, tall instead of petite. ;) Thanks for your time to detail all this and share your knowledge in mashing patterns. Helps me not have to think so hard.

Thank you!! (1) I topstitch up and away from the band so that I do not have as many layers to go through. To keep your elastic from twisting in the band, you can sew a line of stitches with your sewing machine down the side (so no one can see it) or stitch over the seam allowance where you joined your band in the back. I use a stretch stitch for this. (2) I made my measured size in the Lille tank. It is not as fitted through the waist so when I use a fabric that is not drapy like a cotton lycra or this bamboo cotton lycra, it tends to not be as figure slimming there. I have made this pattern in rayon spandex and those tanks look completely different on me there!

They all look so great! I love all of your sews and have a couple of questions: (1) For topstitching the seam allowance on the band of the Embrace, did you fold it up towards the top or down towards the band? If down, do you stitch it to the elastic? Wondering if I should do this to keep the band from twisting, or it would be too bulky. (2) FOr the Lille tank, do you size up or is it meant to be a little less fitted in the waist? I've had the pattern for years and have yet to sew it up! Thanks.
