I am so excited that you have joined me for Day 2 of The Great Tank Sew Along. This is the week where we #sewallthetanks.
I live in tank tops during the summer heat. I have to admit that today’s tank may just be my favorite in all the tanks that I made for the sew along. I LOVE the silhouette and just how forgiving and comfortable this top is to wear. I felt so dressed up and cozy at the same time. So, I hope YOU ENJOY this fun little hack to the Havana.
Today’s post is the only one in this sew along series that does not have an elaborate video. For detailed video footage of me sewing the Havana, see THIS VIDEO that I made for Day 1 of the sew along.
The difference between today’s peplum and the tank I sewed in yesterday’s post is that I cut the top where it says “cut here for a gathered skirt” and then attached a gathered skirt just like in the instructions of the pattern. EXCEPT for today’s top, I did not use the gathered skirt dimensions in the pattern. Rather, for the width of the skirt, I measured the bottom of my bodice and multiplied it by 2. For the length, I made it 11 inches and hemmed.
I go over all of these instructions on how I made this top in today’s video, which is super short, but I thought I would still check in and go over what I did for you. If you have any questions or need help, feel free to ask!
If you haven’t grabbed the tank top pattern that you need yet, enjoy 25% off any Greenstyle Tank Top Pattern through July 21st with code “GreatTankSAL”
I made this Havana with the straight back like I did in yesterday’s post. I think it is my favorite back option for every day wear because a lot of my regular bras are not racerback bras. In addition to the racerback view, the Havana has a LOW back and a lace up back option.
I did the adjustable straps on this top because it is sooo much easier to get a perfect fit, and it also allows for much easier strap adjustment.
